It’s still too cold to start my gardening, even though we have been teased with some spring like weather. So, instead of heading to the garden shop, I headed to my stash of flea market finds to decorate my dining room cabinet. We had recently repainted, and I wanted to add some new things to the cabinet that I had been putting back. That seems to be how I decorate. I buy things over time, stash them away, them bring them out to see how to use them. Sometimes, I have forgotten about them, and it’s like finding a new treasure all over again!
It’s great when friends know you like junk. I knew these little tins from my friend Dee at work, had to find a place in my cabinets. What a find for fifty cents! The blue tin even has the word Royal Garden on it. Perfect.
These were placed next the metal tool caddy with other items I had picked up at various flea markets.
Next, the baker’s rack. This Fresh Eggs Daily tin was purchased at a local craft stores a couple of years ago. You can buy one at the end of this post. The white enamel kettle doesn’t sit quite level, but for $2.00 I couldn’t pass it up. It will probably head to the garden this spring to be filled with flowers, but then, I can find a new treasure!
My Quality Feed Tin was a gift from husband at Christmas, and has found a home on a newly painted wall over the buffet.
Decorating doesn’t have to be expensive, you can find great decorating pieces at local flea markets, thrift stores and estate sales.

Great finds, indeed! You know, I love the look of vintage and timeless items but I just can’t do. Both my husband and I prefer ‘modern’ but I think if I find the right artwork to hang on a wall, I probably will buy it.

I tend to put things back then bring them back out when I have a “theme” in mind.
