Fall Deck Makeover

My back deck is long overdue for a makeover and I’m ready for change.  The gray paint was old, and in need of a new color.  The walls were painted a warm brown.

Fall seems the perfect time to shed the red and blues of summer, and bring in the brown, orange and greens.

The deck has been pressure washed, and the colors chosen.  It hadn’t been painted for years, and I think the color “Adobe” is perfect.

If you are like me, and like to repurpose and reuse, you can see why I was more than happy to accept my friend Candi’s cast off Adirondack chair and foot rest.  I could see the perfect place on my deck for it. After it is painted Chocolate Brown of course!

Newly painted, I added a  Walmart pillow.  The same Adobe color is in the sunflowers, that is on the deck.

I had made several fall crafts a few weeks ago, and brought them out for decoration.  This rusted rabbit feeder went on the wall beside the back door and

And finally, this little metal table was brought up from the bottom deck where it had held summer flowers, and placed under the rabbit feeder, and decorated.

Now, on to the next project!  The patio.

I love the rustic items repurposed- when I see something discarded and seemingly all used up I am challenged to change it into another kind of beauty or use..I also see some deck redo in my immediate future when I finish with Heather’s Sringtownhome Harvest tour of Homes I will get back and devour your deck project to see what I can glean from your effort. I will follow wherever I can .

I’m getting ready to stain my front deck/porch. It’s a job isn’t it? I love the chair and pillow you added. Now you can relax with a good book and some hot chocolate. Visiting you from the Harvest Home Tour.
