When it’s blazing hot outside, staying hydrated is key. Herbal-infused waters are a refreshing way to cool down, and you can use herbs straight from your garden. Here are 3 great recipes to try.

Recipe 1: Cucumber, Mint & Lemon
-
1 small cucumber, sliced
-
A handful of fresh mint leaves
-
2–3 lemon slices
Let sit in cold water for at least an hour. Add ice when serving.
Recipe 2: Basil & Strawberry
-
4–5 fresh basil leaves
-
3–4 sliced strawberries
Slightly muddle the basil for more flavor. Add to a pitcher of water and chill.
Recipe 3: Lavender & Blueberry
-
½ tsp dried culinary lavender or 2 fresh sprigs
-
¼ cup blueberries
Steep lavender in a bit of hot water first, then combine with cold water and berries.
These waters aren’t just pretty—they’re packed with flavor and garden-grown goodness. Sip all day long to stay cool and refreshed.
P.S. Don’t underestimate plain old mint! Peppermint, spearmint, lemon balm and pineapple mint can turn a simple glass of water into something refreshing and cooling. Just muddle a few sprigs and add ice—you don’t always need fruit to make it delicious. My favorite? Kentucky Colonel Mint. Adds a sweetness to the water and smells delicious.
