Cookie Cutter Air Fresheners

Looking for something to do with all those cookie cutters you have laying around? With just two simple ingredients you can make great smelling air fresheners for your car or home.

What you need:

Equal parts of applesauce and cinnamon

Cookie cutters

Baking pan

Rolling pin, parchment paper (optional)

Ingredients for cookie cutter air fresheners

Use equal parts of cinnamon and applesauce to create a dough. I used 2/3 cup each, and had to add a little cinnamon to create a workable dough.  This made about 6 Lady Bug fresheners.  You could make more with smaller cookie cutters.

Air freshener dough

Flatten out the dough with your hands and roll out with a rolling pin between two pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper.

Cut out your fresheners, and place on a greased baking sheet or parchment paper.  Create a hole for adding string by using a straw or bamboo stick.  Bake at 150 degrees for 2 hours.

Cookie Cutters

I decided to use just the lady bug cookie cutters since they were larger.  I added a few dots with the end of a small paintbrush, and a line down the middle to make it look more like a lady bug.  These could be painted and used as ornaments or gift tags.

Add string and hang! I used bakers twine for these.
