Welcome to the 2015 Ornament Exchange!
This is my first time participating with over 80 bloggers who are creating and exchanging ornaments.
Earlene at My Pinterventures is hosting the exchange, and over 14 days in November we will be sharing our creations. Some chose to share a shopping trip and I know that will be fun too!
I love to go to flea markets, thrift stores, and antique shops. When I find a bargain, I take it and figure out what to do with it later. These old keys were one of those, and I have already used them to embellish picture frames, and birdhouses. I had a few left, and decided to use them to create my repurposed Christmas Ornaments.
Old rhinestone jewelry was accumulated at various estate sales, with hopes of creating some jewelry. It didn’t cost much, so I didn’t mind disassembling it.
What you will need for your project:
Old keys
Rhinestone jewelry pieces.
E6000 Glue
Jewelry pliers
These are so easy to make. Separate pieces of the jewelry that will fit your keys.
And then glue on. Allow to dry overnight.
These keys are an ornament that you can use all year long. After it comes off of the tree, you can use on your key ring, hang it off your purse, or put it on a chain for a one of a kind necklace.
I am sharing this Ornament Exchange Day with 3 fellow bloggers. Be sure and head on over to their blogs and see what they have created.

What a fun way to repurpose! I just discovered E6000 I don’t know how I lived without it for crafting!

LOL, I know what you mean. I go through quite a bit of it. I like to buy the small tubes in a pack. I have a tendency to be a lot more messy with the large tubes

I’ve always wondered what to do with old keys and know I have a great craft to try. Will have to scrounge around for some old keys and jewelry and give this a shot. Thanks for sharing your tutorial on the 2015 ornament exchange.

Great idea. Who doesn’t have a bunch of keys laying around. Love that E6000 glue. Works like a charm.

I’m a big believer in blinging up old keys for jewelry, etc. Never thought of using them as ornaments! Very clever. We’d love it if you’d share this great project over at our Vintage Charm Link Party today! (closes Monday morning). Hope to see you there! xoKathleen
